Jordison, who had a number of small cashes in Pendleton and Las Vegas between 2006 and 2013, hadn’t ever recorded a live tournament win, let alone three on back-to-back-to-back nights. The Central Oregon bar owner and mother of two has been playing poker for over a decade but rarely gets the chance to play tournaments these days because the nearest spots are over two hours away, so she mostly sticks to pot-limit Omaha eight-or-better cash games.

“The last three tournaments have become a blur,” Jordison told Card Player. “I have played more heads up in the last three days than I ever have in my life. I had hands hold against big draws, suck outs, big lay downs and big bluffs.”

All three tournaments were no-limit hold’em, but the third featured a shootout format.

“The most difficult tournament for me was the third one,” Jordison said. “Shootouts take a lot of concentration and I was running on little to no sleep.”

What makes Jordison’s run even more impressive is the fact that all three wins came against large field sizes of 537, 448 and 214 players. For her wins she banked $10,828, $18,348 and $8,731 for a total of $37,907, which brought her lifetime tournament earnings to over $87,000. Her streak came to an end on Monday after busting out of event no. 4. She promptly drove home to get some much-needed rest.

Jordison says the winnings are coming in at the perfect time. She plans on using the cash to help support her two kids who will attend the University of Oregon in the fall. Of course, she will also continue to play more poker, especially with her brother and father, who often travel to tournaments together.
